I hear quite a bit about how expensive it is to eat real ingredients/food, and I just don't "buy" it. Here's what I got from our Charleston Farmer's Market last Saturday for $24.
Also - these vegetables were ~90% certified organic from Joseph Fields Farm and included eggs from free range chickens.
For $24 I bought - 12 eggs, 1 cabbage, 10 pickling cucumbers, ½lb okra, ¾lb green beans, 2 tomatoes, 6 peaches, 2 squash, 2 peppers, and a head of parsley.
I pickled the cukes, made sauerkraut and slaw with the cabbage, chopped up most of the veggies to make dinners easier this week (do this every week - it will make your life easier to throw dinner together).
The eggs are amazing with huge yellow yolks and that takes care of some breakfasts this week and also a nice egg salad.
Eat your fruits and veggies - it's healthier and cheaper! Beckie
