This easy oven baked salmon recipe is cooked uncovered at 375F with butter, salt, lemon zest, and fresh lemon juice. Talk about fast and delicious "no brainer" dinners that are done in less than 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 pounds Salmon (4 fillets)
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 lemon zested
  • 1/2 lemon juiced

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375F
  • Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment for easy clean up.
  • Mix room temperature butter with salt, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  • Slather on salmon.  Get in there.  Use your hands. It will be clumpy and messy.  Enjoy the process but have a paper towel ready to get the butter off your hands.
  • Bake salmon 13-15 minutes uncovered or until done.

Notes

  • Wild salmon is generally thinner and also has less fat.  It will cook faster.  Check at 8-10 minutes in the oven.
  • Farm raised salmon is generally fattier (not a bad thing!) as well as thicker.  It will need the full 13-15 minutes and maybe more.
