Easy "unslimy" Grilled Whole Okra

Grilling okra whole minimizes the slimy innards that turn so many people off.  Add any favorite herbs to this fresh okra recipe or leave it classic and grill with olive oil, salt, and pepper.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb whole okra
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • pinch black pepper

Instructions

  • Heat a grill to medium high to high heat (~425F)
  • Toss all ingredients together in a bowl.  Skewer the okra.  
  • Put on grill, cover, cook ~ 2-3 minutes per side or until grill marks appear. Happy Okra Eating!  Beckie

Notes

Don't have a grill?  Roast uncovered (no skewers) on an aluminum lined baking sheet ~ 12-15 minutes, turning once.
