Holiday Kitchen Gifts Under $30

Looking for some functional & affordable holiday gifts?  Here's some of my favorite, most loved, and most used kitchen items.  At the time of this post, all items were under $30.

  • Teak Cutting Board - It's sustainably harvested, easy on knives, got the juice grooves, and pretty.
  • Bamboo Drawer Divider - Makes Organizing Easy and Creates Space
  • Cooking Twine - Tie up that meat or herbs in a nice package or bundle.
  • Zester / Grater - Good for zesting fruit, grating ginger, & shredding Parmesan finely.
  • Potato Ricer - For the creamiest & fluffiest mashed potatoes ever.
  • Vegetable Peeler - Serrated, Strong, and on a Swivel.
  • Kitchen Tongs - Ultimate Favorite Kitchen Tool Ever.
  • Baking Sheets - 13 x 18 and two of them to boot.  Perfect for roasting any vegetable.
  • Bamboo Cutlery Organizer - Get your tools & silverware organized with this expandable tray.
  • 8 Cup Food Processor - Affordable workhorse food processor for grating, slicing, & chopping.
  • "Fish" Spatula - I use this for everything from flippin' fish to breakin' up ground beef in a pan.
  • Salad Spinner - Remember to clean your greens.  Lots of stuff hidden in there.
  • 3 Quart Mixing Bowl - This is a great size for things like batters, salads, meatloafs, or veggies.
  • Shrimp Peeler & Deveiner - Makes easier & faster work of a mundane job.  Don't let the cheap plastic fool you.  It works better than any of the others I've tried - even the steel ones.
  • 6 Quart Crockpot - It's big, programmable, & affordable.
  • 13" Serving Spoon - There is nothing fancy about this spoon. It's industrial and tough.  I like the look & feel.
  • Silicone Spatula Set - Heat Resistant, BPA free, & won't scratch your pans.
  • Over The Sink Colander - 5.5 Quarts.  Used in my home on nearly a daily basis.
  • Splatter Guard - Protect your stove, counters, & face from grease splatters!
  • Pie Shield - Don't let your pie crust ever burn again
  • Glass Measuring Cups - Glass, 3 piece stackable, classic, and like your mama probably had.
  • Spiralizer - Trying to eat less carbs & more veggies.  Zucchini noodles are a pinch with this.
  • Old School Juicer - It's like your mama's old juicer.  Sturdy.  I find these to be easier than the newer handheld models.
  • Set of 3 Fine Mesh Strainers - Perfect for straining foods, especially fine foods like angel hair pasta or making kombucha or cider.

  • Hand Mixer - This isn't a fancy hand blender.  Great reviews & price and will get the stuff mixed for home cooks.

  • Kitchen Scissors - These get the job done for cutting meat, herbs, and even small shrubs.  Watch your fingers!

Hey y'all!

I’m Beckie Hemmerling. I love food and I think of it on a basic level of providing strength & nourishment. Cooking has helped me *try* to figure out life, not just my own, but also other people's. I have cooked through many joys / sorrows and cooking has always been a meditative place through these highs & lows. More background info →
