Easy Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup with Egg Noodles

Jump to Recipe

This easy homemade chicken soup with egg noodles, peas, carrots, celery, and chicken broth is simple, comforting, and delicious.

I have cooked for a lot of kids in my time as a personal chef and have always made chicken egg noodle soup without onions and garlic.  Add them if you want, but I don't think it needs it.

Variations on Homemade Chicken Egg Noodle Soup

Chicken soup with egg noodles is versatile.  Throw in what you want or are trying to get rid of from your fridge.

I love a little fresh tomato, cilantro, and avocado in my chicken noodle soup.

Don't have cooked chicken?  No problem.  Dice it up raw and throw it in uncooked.  Just make sure the chicken is cooked long enough before eating it. It shouldn't take long to cook (less than 5 minutes) if it's diced.

Gluten free?  Add wild rice ( ~ 1 ½ cups cooked) or brown rice noodles instead of egg noodles to this chicken soup recipe.

Check out my chicken bone broth recipe if you want to "give a go" at making your own chicken broth.

Things In My Kitchen:

  • Teak Cutting Board - Sustainably harvested, easy on knives, got the juice grooves, and pretty.
  • Vegetable Peeler - Serrated, strong, and on a swivel.

Needed a quick recipe that didn't entail a lengthy list of ingredients, sautéing onions, mincing garlic, etc. This was easy, tasty and comforting. I enjoyed the peas in it although I normally don't use them. Thank you.
