The days are long, but the months are short (or something like that). Whether you're cooking for a small or large gathering of friends or family, or you're making a special meal for a loved one, it doesn't have to be difficult.

My personal favorites (at least right now)

My tastebuds change dramatically based on the season, the weather and other factors. Whereas heartier meals like stews and pastas are usually calling me during the late fall and winter, during the summer I crave salads and sandwiches. Here's what I'm craving now.

  • Chopped Kale & Red Cabbage w/ slices of raw red peppers, shaved carrot, sliced green onions w/ brown rice & cilantro in a white bowl with a side of brown peanut salad dressing

Seasonal Recipes

Don't ignore the seasons and the fresh ingredients that come with each distinct time of the year. Part of cooking with real ingredients and supporting the local economy and local farmers, fishers, ranchers means trying to use ingredients that are produced locally.

  • Sliced bok choy in a shallow bowl with white chopsticks sitting on the side. Glass of water in the background
Baby Bok Choy with Soy Sauce & Lemon
  • 2 bowls of orzo pasta in a green herb sauce with diced cucumbers, red onions, and green onions. One bowl has shredded parmesan and a spoon. Side view.
Lemon Dill Orzo Salad with Feta
  • Top view of a small white bowl of ceviche (diced white fish, red onions, yellow and red peppers, lime juice, and cilantro) with 3 crackers sticking out of bowl.

Recipes to launch into a healthy life

I like simple food, real ingredients and tasty combinations. Clean ingredients that are grown without hormones, antibiotics, and GMO’s (genetically modified organisms) and that support the local economy and local farmers, fishers, ranchers, etc…  Sustainable food is good for your body, good for the animals, and good for the environment.

I am committed to promoting recipes & advice that are free from food fixations which take away from our enjoyment, wonder, appreciation, and curiosity of life.
