Grilled Corn On The Cob in Husk

Jump to Recipe

This grilled corn on the cob in husk recipe is easy to throw on the grill and even easier to eat.

3 Corn Grilled in Darkened Husks and peeled back to exposed charred kernals. this …

We had corn fields growing up.  I spent many a days sitting on a bucket in an open garage shuckin’ corn.

It wasn’t unusual to pull an ear from the plant and eat it raw because it was so sweet and tender.  Point is : don’t overcook corn. If the corn is fresh, overcooking it will make it tough.

Grilled Corn On The Cob In Husk Tips

Don't have time to soak the corn with the husk on for 30 minutes?  Cool, soak it for as long as you can and / or grill it without soaking 🙂

Make sure that some corn kernels are exposed on the barbecue so that the grilled corn gets some charred crispy bits.

Throw some chili lime butter on this grilled corn on the cob in husk recipe after cooking. Dig into corn "typewriter style".

3 Corn on The cob on a white plate with husks pulled back and silks removed.
Pull back the husk to remove the silk and then wrap the cob back up in the husk to grill.

Things In My Kitchen:

  • Weber Q1200 - this is my grill, y'all.  It's pretty & cool, simple, has even & consistent heat, and easy to clean.  You can even take the grates off, wipe off quickly, and stick in the dishwasher.  It fits 6 strip steaks perfectly and is portable (you have to buy this separate and also an adapter hose) so you can easily take it with you camping.

Ingredients

  • 3 corn on the cob in husk
  • butter
  • salt

Instructions

  • Peel back the corn husks, leaving them intact an inch or two at the bottom.  Remove silk and pull the husk back up over the corn.
  • Soak in water (corn should be covered) ~ 30 minutes (this makes the husks not catch on fire on the grill).
  • Grill 7-8 minutes per side (3 sides) or until husks are dark and some kernels have darkened.
  • Add butter and salt to taste.  Happy eating!  Beckie

Notes

  • Don't have time to soak the corn on the cob in husk for 30 minutes?  Cool, soak it for as long as you can and grill it anyway 🙂
